Galaxy S4 Announcement March 14th 7 pm EST

So will there actually be a speed improvement on the device, or is it just innovation for efficiency? Either way if they go through with that (octa) it'll be great!

Yes there will be a speed improvement. The GS3 has 2 different models. The International is a quad core arm cortex a9 chip. The USA version is a dual core Snapdragon S4, a modified arm cortex a9 chip. The snapdragon has performance nearly on par with the arm cortex a15. The Exynos 5 chip, will have 4 arm cortex a15 cores at the very least, if not four a15's and four a7's. The four a15's will each be 40-50% faster clock for clock than the gs3's international a15's, and better than the measly 2 cores in the USA GS3. So long as they go with an exynos 5, the gs4 should easily be more powerful.

Also I wouldn't call it a prius. The prius isn't powerful. It is only efficient. The prius is more like those low end a7 only phones, which sip power. The gs4 if it goes octa-core would be more like the tesla model s. Capable of efficiency, but also capable of pure raw power.

The current U.S. "lunchbox" device has 4 cores...though that could change prior to release..

I only heard that "4" sounds same as "death' in Chinese. Never heard the story abt Korean

It's less of an issue, but it is still considered unlucky - Sure not a coincedence that the new Galaxy is called "IV" and not "4" ..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetraphobia
In Korea, tetraphobia is less extreme, but the floor number 4 is almost always skipped in hospitals and similar public buildings. In other buildings, the fourth floor is sometimes labeled "F" (Four) instead of "4" in elevators. Apartment numbers containing multiple occurrences of the number 4 (such as 404) are likely to be avoided to an extent that the value of the property is adversely affected. The national railroad, Korail, left out the locomotive number 4444 when numbering a locomotive class from 4401 upwards.

Thats all well and good, so answer me this.

Why have Samsung paid to have a blooming huge ad in times square specifically saying 4 not IV?
