Probably a horse that has been beaten to a bloody pulp, but is the EVO ever going to get Gingerbread or is Froyo it? Just curious.

Well the Epic is just now getting scheduled to receive 2.2 so at least we are ahead of them (they won't be getting 2.3/2.4 anytime soon)

Please change the title of this to a question such as Does anyone know the Release Date for Gingerbread on EVO.. or something like that. Also alot of discussions on the forums about this that a search will bring up.

Update:
Thanks for changing it. People would have started flaming you.

I give it another month or two. We'll have it by late May or something. Just chillax guys. Enjoy the beauty of launcher pro and beautiful widgets. Hell, I'm still happy with my old ass kernel and stock ROM. I got what I want out of my evo so far.

Gingerbread is nice but I want to know when 3.0 Honeycomb for smart phones is coming out. Because seriously 2.3 is a allot of new refreshed UI but not total overhaul and amazing replacement of the software. And have seen some people with custom 3.0 roms.

So, going along with the timeline, maybe April is a good guesstimate for Gingerbread on the EVO?

Interesting enough, if April 1 is the first date that Sprint Premier program changes, that would go in line with an update of the EVO from Froyo to Gingerbread. Question is, will Gingerbread be so great to keep people around?

Does anyone think there is a chance by the middle of March? I really don't know that much about it at all, but it just seems to feel like that would be a rather good time(well... If it can't be already out). I'm honestly waiting on Gingerbread and what will change with the UI to decide if I want to take my phone to the world of rooting or not. I really love Sense and don't want to lose a few things from it, but want to explore a little more of what my Evo can do.
