Help Google Voice issues only from Verizon phones

I am currently using google voice without using a google number. I have been doing this for several months. It has been flawless until the last couple of weeks. Whenever my phone is called from someone within the verizon network my voicemail gives an error message that says this number must be set up to be fowarded to or just no message at all. My wifes droid is acting the same way. I have tested this from three area codes and there is no problem when dialed from a land line but when dialed from a verizon phone google voice does not work at all. Any clues to solve this would be appreciated.

Log out and then log back in and set it up again.

I have done that. I even deleted the app and reinstalled.

Well, in the last couple of weeks they ramped up and went public (this week, specifically) so they may have changed something on their end...

TBH, you can get a number and just never give it out to anyone and see if it makes a difference....
