GT I5500-Lousy browser

Has anyone had a similar problem on any other Android device?
If I open a web-based app, I get a strong 3g signal with very little "drop-off", but as soon as I open a browser, any browser, the 3G signal gets very patchy, and I can't download any data. I've tried Skyfire, Dolphin, Boat, Opera. I live in the UK, and I get the same problem whichever network I try. I've tried O2, Vodafone, and at the moment I'm with 3 which is under the Orange/T-Mobile umbrella. Any ideas anyone out there?

I'm in the UK on T-Mobile (and tried o2 also) and no such problems here for normal web browsing on 3G. Mind you, which "web-based app" are you using?

Virtually all the web based apps. Yell, Google Reader,G Reader, maps, navigation, Sky News, Twitter Facebook and even YouTube. Open any of these types of apps, I get solid 3g reception, but as soon as I open any browser, bang goes my reception.
