Root [GUIDE] Unbrick OR Unroot LG Motion 4G [KDZ]

Need help with my phone :( Im not sure but i think its totally bricked...I flashed a few zips using recovery (after making a nandroid backup) mainly bravia2, then walkman. Everything was fine, phone booted right up no problem everything worked etc. Then I proceeded to flash pimpmybeats and my phone would not boot past the lg logo. It just sat on a backlit black screen and would not respond to anything besides holding down the power button.

I figured it was bricked after that last zip so I followed all the steps in the unbrick guide but my problem is my phone is not being recognized when plugged into the computer. I've installed and un-installed the drivers several times, tried two different pcs one with vista and one with windows 7 x64. No luck on either, both give me a device malfunction or device not recognized error.

Any ideas?

edit: i did the factory reset a few times also since nothing else seemed to work, that seemed to take as I saw the green android after confirming, but again it wouldn't boot or connect to pc

Guess what!!!!!
I just did the same thing to my phone, would not boot after flashing the beats zip. Also got blackscreen, not sure if it was because of using too many audio mods or what...others have said the beats package works.

So your drivers won't install???
Guess what else?
There's a driver update I found, gonna go find the download to it since it was an auto driver update...LG software.

That's really scary, right after you got it too. I had a black screen issue with CM10 once too when i flashed a small lib file (:confused:) and it wouldn't even go past the LG Logo. Fortunately, i could've booted into CWM from CM10.

Wish you and the othe guy luck! :D
 
Yeah basically it won't install the drivers when I plug my phone into the computer..It does install a driver for LGAndroidNet phone but it shows up under modems in my device manager. The USB composite device driver fails.
 
No offense sammy, but that video in the OP is not good. It's just text that could easily be written in the OP, and won't help people who need visuals.

I'm attaching an image so that people can know if they successfully entered emode. I think this would be better in the OP than the "unvisual" video listed.

Hold Power+Vol Up+Vol Down to get emode. When you see this, then you know you've done it correctly, and now the phone is ready to be unbricked.

I put a folder, extracted Part 1, but then, Part 2 is the same name so it'll just replace or add another with a (2) next to it. How does this work?:confused::confused::confused:

And for an odd reason, USB Debugging (though enabled) and USB Storage won't show after the new 3.8.1 Driver update.
 
Just click part one, then hold shift and select part 2 and part 3, then right click and choose the option extract to MS770.........If done correctly you'll have a new folder with one file
 
Updating the drivers didn't make a difference for me, my phone still won't connect, well it does but it keeps disconnecting. Off to get another cable hopefully that will fix my problem? Fingers crossed...
 
Okay here's what i did, I moved Part 1 in the folder i mentioned. then part 2 and replaced it, and then part 3 and replaced it.

Did i do it right? :confused: Because if i do anything wrong, i may have a brick :(

I was successful!! It took me a while, but I got my phone restored using a new USB cable and the latest drivers. Rolling back the driver didn't work. Thankfully I made a nandroid backup before I started messing around and most everything is back to normal. I did lose some app data and pictures though :( guess nandroids aren't flawless...

Any pics made after backup would be lost if your default location is internal memory.
I recently found out that my unbrick guide erases internal memory.

Nah, c erased it.
Some photos I took with quckmemo went missing...or maybe factory reset did that?
