Root HELP!!! Cant run RSD lite as ADMINISTRATOR

So my phone is stuck on the bootloader screen wat can i do now? I can't run RSD lite as administrator on my SONY VAIO Laptop. I can open the RSD lite program and open the SPF file but cant click start. PLZ HELP NOW!!!

have you tried this to run as admin?

Navigate to the install folder which is usually C:\Program Files\Motorola\RSD Lite
Right click on SDL.exe
Click run as administrator

are you using vista or windows7? i had this problem and needed to use an XP machine.

I"ve tried right clicking wont give me option to run as ADM. I am using VISTA 32 bit. Help. OH...and is it safe to restart and just turn off my phone with out bricking it. ANd HOW?

just pull the battery out and then put it back and turn your phone back on. It should be fine.

In terms of your RSD Lite problems I would find a xp computer to try it on

Try Alt-right click or Ctrl-Right Click, maybe?

Just spitballing here. You have to be able to run as administrator somehow, unless it's a company laptop.

This is exactly what I had to do to run as administrator on my SONY VAIO Windows 7 64-bit laptop.

OK everyone thnx for the help. Got it running somehow, but now it says fail after it being at 99% for 5 minutes. WAT NOW???

OK so after it said failed in the RSD lite program i just click the failed highlighted section and it went on to the next process which is weird. So far so good.

you dont need to run as admin i dont and im using win 7. just follow these. if it doesnt work redownload the 2.0.1 sbf

Instructions:
1. Download all of the files above including the 32-bit OR 64-bit Motorola USB Drivers.
2. Install RSDLite AND the 32-bit or 64-bit Motorola USB Drivers (Depends on your system most will need 32-bit some will need 64-bit)
3. Connect your phone to USB and turn it off then turn it back on, while your phone is booting hold up on the DPAD. (Some users have said it is easier to hold the volume down button and camera button instead.)
4. Run RSD Lite 4.6 as Administrator (For all you Vista and 7 folks out there. If you are using XP you may not need to run as Administrator)
5. Click the ... next to the filename box and browse to where you saved the .sbf file and double click the .sbf file.
6. Hit start and below it should give you completion progress and all of that.
7. Once your phone is done being flashed (It may take a while so don't unplug it) it will reboot and you will be back at stock 2.0.1 no root.
8. Done

I just open rsd, connect phone on usb, shut off, turn on holding up on the d-pad, it will eneter bootloaded, then just click ... on rsd, click the sbf then ok, then click start and leave it alone. phone should just reboot itself automatically. once phone is reset you can disconnect usb and close rsd. itll come up with some damage warning dont worry about it.

According to PMs I got, the OP got rooted successfully! YAYYYY Now it's onto ROMming and setting up wifi tether and Flash. He did great!
