Help Help with alerts pls

Is it possible does anyone know if you can set a alert sound for txt only i,m not getting my txt right away due to it only vibrates can I do this as well for a face book alert? I just got the droid inc yesterday thanks for any help anyone can provide
Is it possible as well to set different alerts for different things?

Yes, in the messaging app, hit menu-settings and choose the notification sound.
