Help Hole in bottom of case

What is the hole on the left side of the bottom of the case for? I can see the red color of the inside. I'm assuming that the microphone is the the hole near the bottom at the center of the face of the phone.

Is it for a switch to disconnect the battery temporarily to reset the phone? I've tried to press it a couple of times and didn't notice anything happen although I was only using the tip of a pen which might by too big.

I gave my Dinc to my daughter.. so I haven't it at hand to be certain. I do believe the hole you see is for a lanyard.
