Help how can i reset settings to factory, no data loss + semi bricked phone

ok so i will make this quick i have a droid turbo android 5.1 and i was messing with the dev options and saw "force gui direction" (i knew what this was, i did it on my old phone all it does is just switch the direction of the screen) so i decided to mess with it, now i get only the msg "GUI has stopped working" so i press ok and the screen goes black and it pops up again i did some digging around and found out that i can factory reset my phone doing the recovery mode while powered off but im wondering if i can reset my settings only so i still have all my data or do i just have to factory reset my phone.

You lose all the data if you factory reset that way too.
