How to get amazon app?

my wife has an htc inspire 4g we got the sidebar upgrade now my question is how do i get the amazon app site is there an app for that or do go onth web and type amazon apps and it sends me there to buy apps sorry if this a stupid question as our phone from att had very little in printed help is there a book andoid os for dummies or something i fell like an idiot for asking these things
