Help How to keep an app open/running

Is there a widget or any other way to actually keep an app open and not just open in the background?

What exactly are you trying to keep running? If its in the background, typically it isn't being used anyways, so I don't see why you would want it to run more battery life

Google Voice has been a little slow with SMS notifications and I wanted to see if keeping it open would speed the notifications up. Although, today the notifications have been getting to my phone faster than the extension on the browser.

I don't think that will help as Voice is already a running service (as it is in the forefront, not background)
