Root how to make cm9 stable and more responsive.

OK so assuming you are starting fresh these are the steps i took to make my prevail handle cm9 with ease..

i went into performance and checked 16 bit transparency... enable purging of assets... and

from there, i tried supercharging but my launcher wasnt detected... the adj values on ics aren't read for some reason and so... i looked around and found a patch..

ICS OOM Priority Charger

i didnt zip the file correctly but what we need outta there is the Service.jar file.

once you have downloaded the zip...with root explorer extract the service.jar
and copy it.... go into system/frameworks/ and replace the service jar file in there by simply pasting it.... it will say over write and yeah... over write it..... once it has finished... reboot you phone and it should say something about updating apps 1 out of 67 or sumthin like that... let it finish

download and install script manager and run the latest kak and v6 supercharger

run the scripts and you will not get any errors both in kak or v6.... super charge i usually use option 9, 1000 mph - die hard launcher....

let it install, i also installed the nitro lag nullifier and bullet proof apps...

the 3g turbo charger script experimental 2 worked fine ... and i got good speed as to when i got cm9 it would lagg > allot < to load Google..... finally...
i used the 22 cit bun file and placed it in my init.d folder and rebooted.....

this is my personal experience and wanted to share it with you guys....

thanks to all the devs who made this possible... hopefully this info helps..

Nice... cant test now... but interested to know if this solves screen jitter problems?

Yea it most certanly did. I was iffy about using this rom on a saily basis but after whatbi did, this is going to work pretty well, I'll try to upload my nandroid back up to make it super easy for everyone

Bro you just missed my post in the cm9 alpha thread, lol.

That was wild that you had posted this WHILE I was asking you to do that in another thread, smh.

Very, nice.

I'll see how the nandroid back up goes first if at all possible.

i copied all the scripts from bloods CTMod and put then into init.d, also i added a few other scripts including loopy_smoothness...at first glance i thought the jitters were better..but i think it may have been placebo..what annoys me the most is how sometimes the back button skips..you press it once and it would shoot back two pages or kill the app

This fixed my back button problems.. screen stills jitters and menus sometimes hang..

how long did the "starting applications" thing take..i'm a few seconds away from forever now?

okay cuz umm i installed latest cm9 zip then flashed your backup over it...then it did the 64 applications and has been on starting applications for like 15 minutes

the home button issue had already been resolved in another post...

naa...the home button issue and the back button issue are two different things..the home button was fixed but the problem with the back button is sometimes ..well actually quite often it doesnt seem to respond right..i noticed it while using root explorer and i was pulling scripts from my sd and moving them to init.d..when i would hit back to get out of init.d ..instead of going one back to etc it would go one further or completely back out of the app all together..noticed it in the browser too

new to cm9, have been running cm7 but went to cm9. appreciate all the work of all the devs. i tried to install your nandroid back up for the tweeks but cant figure out how to get it to flash. any help would be greatly appreciated... great work and thank you too all who have contributed to this

Dont flash it.... Extract the zip, and copy the " 2012-03-21.22.22.51 " into your clockwordmod/backup folder in your sd card. The go into recovery and restore that back up.... I put in the scripts that i used to help make it stable... Mainly the service jar.file... They should all be on there already but left em in the folder just in case....

made this flashable for ya :)

invalid or deleted file. :/ damn. I'm new to the whole rooting thing with my Prevail. Currently im running a mod of the CTMod which i hate because of all of the BS apps that i dont use that cant be shut off (i hate cm7). thats why im looking into this one. I love the fact that you can disable apps with CM9. its the only reason why im searching for a good daily use one.
