How to migrate from Note 2 to Note 4?

Hey all,

Whats the best way to migrate my Apps from my old Note 2 to Note 4?

1. Re-install each App from scratch on the Note 4?
2. Use Samsung Kies Backup/Restore all? Will this mess up the Google Play app update check?
3. As for WhatsApp, do I copy the Databases onto the microSD card and plug the card to Note 4. When installing WhatsApp on Note 4, choose Restore from microSD? Does this really work?
4. Is anyone using microSD card encryption on the Note 4? Does this affect performance or access speed? Any drawbacks?

I used SmartIO which transferred apps as well as WhatsApp backup. Worked well for me. Didn't have to swap microSD.
