I just got a Tmobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G - switched over from the Blackberry Bold 2 where I got quite used to the seamless transition the blackberry would make to UMA. It was even possible to turn off the cell antenna and keep the wifi on. This was a very neat feature especially when travelling abroad - I was able to make calls as if I was on the tmobile network. Can we do the same on the Android? It seems like airplane mode turns off all wireless. Its possible to turn on the wifi after going into airplane mode - However, wifi calling does not seem to work in the mode. Any suggestions?

You can use airplane mode and also wifi together. :)

I dont think you can make wifi calls if you cannot log-on to the cell network. On the blackberry you can - but this feature seems to be disabled on the Android with the tmobile wifi-calling app.

Skype or other VOIP applications should work just fine over Wi-Fi even when the phone is in aeroplane-mode.
