How to Turn off Market?

Hi! I'm completely new to the android. I got a g4 last night. I downloaded the "market" so I could get more apps. Now, I have the market box running on the "homepage". How do I turn it off so I don't keep using up my data?

I'm dont understand what you're asking. I don't think there is anything "running". Its just another app that you manually launch.

You do realize that you can also access the google market from your desktop?

How have you downloaded Market app?
Market comes installed with phone.

And by homepage if you thing long press on home button; thats shows previous six applications you have launched.

Yes my new thunderbolt has market task even after kill with task. Another sneak?

Don't worry about the task running in the background, it is part of the framework and you if you kill it it will come back (Zombie market run!)

OP, it sounds like you have a market widget running on your home screen, long press on it and when the trash can appears on your phone (usually bottom center) drag the widget to the trash can.

Short of rooting you can not uninstall the market.
