So a couple of days ago, my phone said it had an update ready for me to install. My phone is rooted so I didn't know if this was something I wanted to do. So I said I would do it later. Now my phone can't find the update when doing the over the air search.

I guess it is HTC update #2.31.651.7. I currently have 2.27.651.6. I have gone to the HTC website, support forums, etc. and can't find how to install it.

So my question is, until I can figure out how to install it, do I want this update? I am rooted via Universal Androot.

    Thanks!

You probably rooted with Regaws guide which includes a script that blocks ota updates. Just flash Nfinites stock rom from xda.

I have been using my hero's phone as modem feature for a few months now. I recently allowed my phone to update the htc software and now tue phone as modem doesnt work. If the update is the problem can I get rid of it? It connects to my computer and says its connected, but when I try to use internet explorer or safari (both rinning on windows xp) it says that it cannot find the website and will not search or load any page. Any help?

I figured I would lose my root, but, would I be able to root again after the update?

Also, I have never flashed a ROM, so I am nervous about dong this. I currently use LauncherPro and am very happy with it, I just HATE the dialer lag!!!!
