Help I installed a T-Mobile Vibrant motherboard on i9000M

Hey guys, I have a i9000M Galaxy S phone with a dead motherboard. I replaced it's motherboard from a working T-Mobile Vibrant's, and everything works great except for the home button. I'm thinking this is because Vibrant's firmware does not have instructions for the home button. So is it possible for me to installe an i9000M's firmware on to to Vibrant's motherboard? Please let me know. Thanks!

I've never seen either of these phones, but if the vibrant has no home button why would its motherboard have a connection for one?
