Root I want to root my Droid.

Hello,

I want to go about rooting my Droid X, but after searching around these forums I still have a few questions.

Primarily, before I begin what is the best way to back up my phone so that I can restore it if I mess up, or want to unroot my phone. Also, if I do back up my phone, is it possible to unroot it at anytime?

What is the best way for me to root my phone? I only have access to a mac. If I mess something up I can just restore the phone right?

Rooting using this method is extremely easy. I like simple things...I'm originally from Kentucky after all!

The people on this forum really want to help and always seem to give really good advice. The search tool has definitely been my friend!

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it seems that that method requires a windows computer.

Ooops! I'm sorry. I didn't even pay attention to the fact that you said you only had access to a mac

You may be able to use this...the newest version has untested Mac support.

+1 to guy above for SuperOneClick. This is like the last word in rooting, I wished it had been around sooner, haha.
