Root Im rooted!! now what?!

Ok im rooted now, what's the next step?? Also when i download apps from google play and crashes my phone and turns it off. Also is their way to stop from creating a "shortcut" every time i download something??

That's rather odd.

Which root method did you take and which base are you on? FI27 etc etc

For the auto short cuts, when you open market, tap the menu button to bring up the market settings and uncheck auto add widget.

I use the one from that you usually put with the video from YouTube, thanks by the way, and yeah FI27, also is not letting me move apps to my SD card. Not sure if it's because i had them saved already?

Did the reset fix the issue?

You can, but if you choose a jelly Bean TouchWiz rom, you'll need to flash a jelly Bean modem as well.

Actually no it didn't, it didn't let me transfer the apps to the SD. So ROM that i decide on would let me know that i need a different modem right?? But now im wondering why i can't pass my apps to the SD...

There's a known bug that doesn't let some apps transfer over to the sd card, I have the same problem.

Yes, pretty much if you go with a TouchWiz ics rom or an aosp rom, no modem needs to he flashed.

If you want a jelly bean TouchWiz rom, then you'll need a JB modem otherwise your data won't work.

Dang that kind of sucks, wonder if i UnRoot and re root if it would make any difference??... Thanks for all the help so far, i guess now to decide what ROM to try out... What would you recommend for a first timer?

If unroot and re root to fix the move app problem? I'm not sure as I rooted mine the day I got it lol

If you like TouchWiz, BluKuban is pretty stable and nice.

If you want to try aosp (non sense, vanilla like the nexus line), PACman is definitely one I'd recommend. (is what I'm using now)

Is the Blukuban just a direct flash? If yes ill try that first, since i still don't understand or know to much about different modems. Do you have a link to it? Also a link to unroot?? Your the best!

Not a problem at all.

BluKuban is an ICS ROM so yes direct flash without flashing a modem.

No it's all good now. Got it working and now officially on Blue Kuban rom, the only thing I can't seem to find is how to install the alarm.. Lol

I personally don't rely on the stock alarm on any custom rom (too many times it didn't go off when it was suppose to lol)

I just opted into "alarm droid" which is a very nice alarm from the market.

It's been a while since I've been on a TouchWiz Rom, but you should be able to open the clock app and it would give you options to set it.

Like I said, been a while since I've been on TouchWiz, may have this set up, then again it could be completely different.

It's your call to take it or not, but if you take it, it'll break root causing you to have to re root.
