Help Internet constantly on

Yesterday used mobile internet whilst out and about - I disconnected after use but it is still connected! At home I use WiFi so no need to have it connected through mobile internet. Have been into settings and tried all variety of things and it is still connected even though nothing is highlighted to say it is (if that makes sense!).
Any ideas? Is it worth re-starting the phone?

How do you know the data is on if the phone says its off?

Data always on doesn't mean your always using Mb.

When your phone detects a known Wifi it automatically favours it over G.

I'm gonna back up what InfernalByte said.

If you have "Mobile Network" un-checked there isn't any way that it's connected to the internet. The only way it is, is if you've linked it to your wi-fi and it's re-connected again whilst in your house.

Just select the Wi-Fi off box and that should turn off as well. Keeping it on is handy for when your too lazy to get to a computer.
