Mine is red and I had the zagg installed at bestbuy. I keep a cover on it and I know didn't have it in water. I'll be ready for a fight when the time is right.
i asked best buy if they knew the indicator was there when applying the shields they said it didnt matter if that one got hit as there are many inside the phone that would allow for them to know if it was a spill or submerged
I'm surprised that with all the reports of loose screens we haven't had complaints of water getting under the screen. And yeah, that does seem like a very superficial place to put a water sensor. They usually bury those things inside so you can't get to them.
Its one of the reasons why I have not put on one of the protective shields that involve using a liquid to apply it. With so many entry holes on the device, I am sure that one of the water indicators will get moisture while applying the shield.
Stupid question here, can you just take it off and store it in a baggie with one of those desciant pouches to keep it dry and only put it back on before having your phone serviced. I understand it may have other indicators internally but they should be less likely to get wet from minor amounts of water? Just wondering.
I purchased the Zagg during the memorial day 50% discount but now I am not sure if I want to install it because of the orange peel effect people talk about and the installation headache. I am looking for a screen protector that does not require the use of water and feels very close to the glass feel. Am I looking for too much?
Thankfully I have the insurance through best buy so I'm covered, but my indicator strip is already shot just because of the humidity down here in florida. It's ridiculous, we keep it pretty cold in our place, and when I step out to go to work in the morning my screen sometimes fogs up.

When I FINALLY get my Evo I'm going to put on the invisibile shield but didnt even plan on pushing any water towards the bottom of the phone because of the problems they've been having with the screen. This just adds another reason not to squeegee the water towards the bottom
I put my zagg on a week or so ago. If you're just careful, it's not a big deal. Spray onto the skin, not the device, and use the cloth provided to soak up stray water puddles. My indicator is perfectly fine.
