I'd like to use Human Space Flight (HSF) - Realtime Data for its ability to predict satellite passages and viewing opportunities, especially the track through the sky. Its dependence on the Java plugin precludes its usage in any Android browser I've tried.

What are people using for an alternative please

There are satellite tracking programs for Android, mostly for ham radio operators (OSCAR is Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio), in the Play store, for free. The only one I could find with a quick search was Satellite Finder Pro (which is free) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bhtx.satFinder (which has quite a few sats, but not one single ham sat), but I know I've had other sat apps that I've installed for free from Play.

Wait - I forgot about My Apps.

You might want to contact this guy https://sites.google.com/site/hamsatdroid/ Maybe the app will work with keps for other sats. Since you can keep the keps on the SD card, you can see how they're formatted and make your own files, I guess.

There's also Satellite AR and SatTrack.

Thanks, that's the most useful of the bunch for my purposes, and after examining the capabilities and using the app briefly, I donated the max. allowable in-app amount to the developer.

Just so you know there is no way to get Java on your android device...yet :)

Unless you're using it for development
