I think it varies and depends on the carrier. I already have 4.4.4. Or you can root and have it now.

I am on Rogers here in Canada, still on 4.4.2.

EE are pretty bad at rolling out updates and usually skip incremental ones, you probably wont get 4.4.4 at all and they will just rollout Lollipop instead.

I'm still on 4.4.2 with Three as well.

Only EE can answer that question as they will need to add their carrier branded stuff and return it to Samsung for testing and release. Indications are that it will be late Nov: or Dec:

Since launch in April this year, EE have released the following firmwares...

NCE (April) -> NE2 (June)-> NE2 (updated July) -> NG2 (August).

Three UK releases...
