Nice, although the on/off seems to turn the light on at a very low level whilst the flash button turns it to full intensity but only briefly - am I doing something wrong? Can you switch it on and off manually at full intensity?
I was just about to post a new thread when the similar thread thing listed this. You stole my thunder again lekky! This is another torch app but this, N1 Torch, is significantly brighter than FlashApp. I think it's on the full "Flash" brightness the whole time, unlike FlashApp. This may be bad for your flash LED if used for prolonged periods of time. Anyway, my new thread...
I came across this little beauty thanks to App Brain:
It's a free torch app that uses the camera flash LED rather than the screen. The description says it needs an N1 but the basic torch functionality works on a rooted Desire. If you don't turn it off in the app, the next time you try to turn it on it will give a little error but then work fine.
Yes, the LED Light app gives a constant light that is brighter than the FlashApp "on" mode. However, it doesn't have a 1 sec bright "Flash" mode like the FlashApp. Using LED Light instead now!
or email the link to yourself & open the email on your phone.
I don't think burning out the led is likely to happen. leds are about the longest lasting light we know how to make.
I didn't like the sound of having to press a button, so I got the LED light from the market place.
BTW, if your thinking that you're screen torch app is good enough for you, it really isn't. I just tried it out around the side of my house, it works much better than the screen.
my only complaint is that the screen is still on when you use the led, so it's a little blinding even at the lowest setting.
after looking into it a little further, apparently the concern is that the led will overheat, not that it will wear itself out. flashapp may be the safer option if this is the case.
Is there any app BTW that can enable you to use the flash during filming...
I've had the need to film in darkened spots but the lack of led usage is stopping me...
