So I am making this thread for those who would like to point out oddities that happen with their device. This means things that happen Out of the Blue, or without Warning. Things that are not caused by something you have done like Issues with a new ROM or Installing a new App etc. Basically not for questions about things pertaining to Root or CWM as well.
Now here are a couple of strange things that happened to me..
A couple days ago I was texting a friend. Well i decided to grab lunch and so I hit the lock button and went to get food. I get a text from the same friend while I was out and it showed just the number not her name instead. I looked at my phone and realized My Contacts List was empty as was my Call Log and Favorite's. I ended up having to Re-Sync my Contacts list and reboot to get them back (EDIT: I also noticed all my saved Contact Ringtones reverted back to default). The second thing was today. I had been using my phone and noticed my battery was low. I plug it in and the battery Icon indicated it was charging so I put it down thought nothing of it. I look a little later and my battery was even lower.. I am not sure why, but it was not charging. I then unplugged my phone rebooted and plugged it back into the charger, and now it is charging again.

Anyone else ever experience anything similar? Thanks in advanced!

Indeed.. Mine gets quite hot as well.. Especially while charging, though that is expected. Just not expect it to be so hot through my silicone gel case. Usually if my phone is that hot while not charging it is from resource intensive apps, such as HotSpot tethering. Either way yes it does get quite warm even to the touch.

I get random times where my proximity sensor freezes my dialer sometimes and I have to battery pull

Monster, I believe that problem may be related to the phone reset / freeze during call problem that is supposedly fixed in the latest ZVC update. I know you have your MB ROM but according to yourself, the MB ROM is not a "full" ZVC update but just the radio update with a ZV4-based ROM. So maybe if you can get the full ZVC integrated with your MB customizations, it should fix the call reset problem.

I haven't seen the call reset problem on mine since I updated with ZVC (I used Sprint stock w/ Zeppolinrox patches). I used to get at least a few times a week with the ZV9 Sprint software.

Here's the poster "nosajsam" describing the same problem as yours and he just disables proximity to get rid of the problem but I would recommend getting the full ZVC update to work with your MB ROM: http://androidforums.com/marquee-al...s855zvc-kills-root-solutions.html#post4176918

I have that happen once or twice.. never bad enough to pull battery tough. And here is an update from me.. So I let my phone drain to 18% and plugged it in before bed. I woke up early this am and it said it was at 8%.. so I unplug it and plug it back n and it jumped from 8% to 20%, where it should have probably been charged already.. And now it only charged to 99% until I unplugged/replugged it in then finally to 100%, though as soon as I unplugged it it dropped to 99% right away and seems as if battery drains faster than before. I was thinking about it and wondering two things:
    1) Is it a possibility that this is a side effect of Bloodawn's Kernel? (I wouldn't have asked this, but seems like it was only a day or maybe less later that I noticed this happen. And I never had this happen before.)
    2) Would trying "Wipe Battery Status" in Advanced CWM be of any help?
Also could maybe it be my Battery? I have another batter I may test that. Just wanted see see if it could be something else first.

Happens to me with stock kernel too. I usually only get charged to 97% after I unplug even though it says 100%. If I charge with the phone off (powered down) I'll get 100% usually

Well I am testing out a theory.. I went into /data/system and deleted batterystatus.bin and restarted so it created a new one. I am pretty sure that is all CWM>Advanced>Wipe Battery Status does. So now I am going to attempt to drain it to 0% then to 100% a couple times and see if it helps. In a day or two I will post results unless I notice the, not charging issue. That is my main concern that It is going to be hard to tell if it is actually charging. I know last night when I plugged it in @ 18% I checked it before I passed out and it seemed fine with 33% Charge. Like I said I woke up and it said 8% until I unplugged/replugged it in then it jumped only to 20%. Just didn't make any sense. Wonder if any of the dev's seen this issue before..
After 24 minutes on battery I am at 82%.. I don't think it should take close to 1%/minute. I mean that would be less than 2hours per full charge.

    My only issues are:

    1) The phone gets pretty hot. I just assumed it's because the phone is very slim. Like 80% of the phone is battery. LOL

    2) The back light sometimes stays off, I can't get it to come back. I hate to battery pull usually. I was thinking this was due to a certain app. I haven't had the problem in a while.

    3) When my phone is plugged into certain chargers, It goes nuts. If I try to send a text or gTalk it will just start typing random letters and even opening apps by itself. I just have to leave it alone or take it off the charger to use it.

I am planning on putting CWM and a rom on it. I just haven't really had time yet. X_x
It's only rooted for now. Luckily I didn't attempt that update...

That seemed to work for me. After disabling the sensor I never had another reset. Prior to doing this, my phone (& my wife's Marquee) was resetting 2-3 times a day. On a seperate (but related) note, I have recently applied the ZVC update, proximity sensor is back on & have not experienced any resets since the update (yet).

    Regarding Battery:
There was a post by member tcaudill01 way back in October when the Sprint version of this phone was released about calibrating the Battery (found here). Here was his suggestion:

We will start with a basic necessity for good battery performance. CALIBRATION.
Calibration is the process where you get your battery to hold as much charge as it can and the battery meter to display the correct reading. I think when you do this, you will be suprised how much more charge your battery takes than the phone thinks it needs.

    1. Charge your phone 100% while it’s on.
    2. Use root explorer, astro, or file manager of choice and go to /data/system and find batterystat.bin. Delete it.
    3. Immediately power off and allow charge it up to 100%. (This may take longer than you think)
    4. Power it on, and charge it to 100%.
    5. Go back to step 2 and repeat one more time.

Your battery should now have it's maximum charge.
NOTE I have read on some of the Optimus Black boards that a 5 volt charger will provide longer battery usage than the 4.8 volt charger that comes with our phone. I have not tested this so I am not sure.

Yeh battery life on this phone sucks coming form the triumph I expected similar battery life from 1600 mh to 1500 but wow

Like you said, this will depend on the charger. Use the stock charger/cable & you will be fine.

As I have posted many times in many different places & threads:

The battery life is dependent on the user. Your location (if you are in a poor service area) & apps you have installed/running will greatly have an impact on this phone's battery life.

The Marquee's battery life is right on par w/ users of the Optimus Black.

I have 3 Marquees. I consistently get 18-22 hours of battery life w/ moderate use. My wife, who spends most of her time playing with different apps...does not. We both grew slightly annoyed w/ our 5 year old constantly wanting to play games on our phones. So I purchased a 3rd one (not activated) just as a "games" phone for my daughter. I only enable the wi-fi to access the market & play certain games....but for the most part that phone stays on standby & it drains less than 1% per hour. Last we checked it had been off the charger for 41 hours & still had 72% battery life.

Will you have to do this every time you do a data (factory) wipe (since that wipes out the whole /data directory)? I would think so unless your phone happens to have the max charged capacity at the time the /data was wiped (equivalent to deleting /data/batterystats.bin).

EDIT: thanks for the tip, took me 2 hours to go through that calibration. Once it was all and done, I unplugged and left my phone still for 45 minutes (still on) and it still has 100% :) Of course, I didn't have GPS, BT, or Wifi enabled, just the normal 3G and what cell radio needed for calls. Finally got back the 3-4% I can never seem to get on a full charge.

I will have to try this out! That is good news if it can fix my issue. I did fix my charging to 100% issue though. I finally restored a backup from before the hyper kernel was flashed. Seems to be at least draining about the same as it used to usually. Thanks for the info.

Thanks nosajsam!! I did this last night and took my phone off the charger around 2:00am. Woke up at 12(noon) and was still at 80%. I have been running on battery since then and I still have 42%!! Thanks for that TUT.
