When using file manager to search a folder of movies, when I tapped a movie the movie didn't start playing, just an opening screen with a "play" arrow. There was a delete button and I could swipe left or right to the next or previous movie.

Now the movie I tap from file manager starts playing immediately. Tapping the back button returns to the list in file manager.
Trying to find a pool particular movie when I can't remember the title Is slow.
I haven't changed file manager but I must have changed open with.
Does anyone know a video player that used to do what I want?

Cheers

Try VLC.
It is probably your best bet, and is also a full feature music player as well.

If it isn't quite right for you, then try X-Player.
It has most of the same features of VLC.

Both play almost any type of file and can also stream.

Or, you can figure out what app the file manager is trying to open the movies with.
Then go into:

Settings
Apps
Show All Apps
(find the app)
Open By Default
(clear all defaults)

The next time you select a movie, you will be asked what app to open it with, and whether or not to always use that app.
