Help mp3 files not added to the phone music library

Device: Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830.
Problem: mp3 files added to the SD card are not seen by the default Music player "Music" and/or added to the media library.
Question: Should the folder of my music files have a particular name (I have tried with "media")? What do I do wrong? How can I update the library with the mp3 files on the SD card? (And so on).
Thanks, I am getting crazy with this problem.
