easiest way is also free! Connect your Hero to your PC and move your own music to the SD card.

how do i know if it went to the SD card and not the internal memory

think i read somewhere that it could happen

I connect the my phone via USB then [Computer]-[Removable Disc]-[Music folder]
Then you can Create folder's to keep your music organised


and you can use Lime/Frostwire or Itune's!

This can happen when downloading ringtones and stuff directly to the Hero using sites like Myxer. Definitely a problem for phones that aren't rooted because internal memory is limited and there's no access to this memory to delete the files other than to hard reset the phone.
