Root My phone won't root when i run extracted files

ive been trying to root my phone for 5 hours and I still can't get it i followed the instructions from this thread -------> http://androidforums.com/warp-seque...-root-zte-warp-sequent-use-your-own-risk.html

i have the correct drivers, i went to computer and manage and made sure there wasnt a yellow triangle

i plugged my usb to my phone then to the computer and put it in charge only

then downloaded the zip file

restarted my computer

extracted the zip file

then ran the runme.bat

but i keep ending up with:
---STARTING---
---WAITING FOR DEVICE
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *

after that it just stays there and my phone never reboots.
and if i try to close command prompt and run the runme.bat again i get
---STARTING---
---WAITING FOR DEVICE

unless i reboot my computer
im running windows vista home premium but i doubt thats the problem
please get me some help here

usb debugging. in the phones settings menu, you have to turn it on for adb to see it, thats why it cant proceed kuz it cant see the debug connection

as well as allowing installation of applications from unknown sources? kuz with those on, the drivers from zteusa.com installed, phone plugged in, and running the package as is from a folder you extracted it all to, it should just work...

problem is the damned program cant find the phones adb connection. what drivers did you download and install?

if those arent the drivers you used, install that, then switch usb ports to one you havent tried plugging the phone into yet if at all possible. that will force a driver reinstallation

ah, i dunno im all kinds of out of it lol. long day and i been focusing really hard on cm and not much else. but yea, i dunno man, the program cant find anything using adb, that is what that means. hopefully someone else is able to help

could you try too see if you notice me doing something wrong?

not really, and i personally am working on a project at the moment, but go into the device manager and check that it says android at the top, if there isnt an android device listed the drivers arent installed right. basically i dont know that its necessarily anything youre doing wrong, all i know for sure is that particular scenario is caused by adb not seeing the phone for one reason or another, could be drivers, could be usb debugging isnt on, could be a screwy usb port, could be a bad cord, but just start by checking to see if the device is listed in device manager, itll be in the android category under zte adb something or other

Ok, so the SAME thing was happening to me bro! You know what it is! When it asks for what type of connection to your comp you want it had to be on Charge Only. For whatever reason it wouldn't work in Media Transfer nor would it work on Software. Hope this helps!

You just don't have the right drivers I think I was having the same problem

Once you download and extract the drivers run the zte thing in the folder then put usb debugging on and connect to the computer charge only then run the script and see if that works

try right clicking the runme thing and doing run as administrator

i got a totally different result when clicking run as administrator. but it didnt work still
im gonna get the drivers from the link you gave me

ok so i tried installing the zipped file you gave me for the drivers and a window pops up saying "you have installed a higher version aplication, and the installation will exit."
i updated the driver after a while cus i thought they were too old, do you think that might be it?

I suggest u uninstall everything u downloaded for the phn, drivers, the root scripts and adb or android sdk. Make A new administrator account and try everything all over again. And make sure u read correctly to know wat ur doing. The root program wont work if u on another Account while all the stuff u downloaded, is on another account. It happend to me

Is was all on one account.
but it was then administrator account but I used the admin. password to get everything download and that part worked fine.

I'll try to redo the whole thing

that means running as administrator was your original problem
now you seem to have an issue with it not finding the files that should be in the "files" folder

are you right clicking and running as administrator or dropping it in a command prompt? dont use the command prompt to start the program that will cause issues

kuz if your files are in c:\folder1\
and the command prompt says
C:\folder2>
its looking for the stuff in folder2... but it wont find it kuz its in folder 1...

i was right clicking then run as admin.
