Help Need help new to smart phones

Ok heres the deal I am looking to but my first smart phone. I have looked at reviews for several phones and come to relize that all phones have there problems. I am looking at the I-Phone 3GS or the Samsung Captive. any suggestions?

My wife just went from an iPhone 3G to a Samsung Infuse 4G and is loving it! She liked my Captivate and they are very similar (hers kicks mines butt ) We went to the store and she played with all the phones she wanted and she kept going back to that one.

Also consider how much customization you want in your phone. If you don't want to change all that much, go with the iPhone. If you want to make your phone unique and your very own, go with an Android phone. After that find the phone that "feels" the best to you as others have said above.

Also, remember both phones have their issues! Research them or simply ask tech guys when you get to the store and weigh the pros and cons.
