New Hero this summer?

What I find interesting is this quote from the website mbell75 posted: "HTC is reportedly to begin shipping another WiMAX-enabled smartphone to US-based Sprint Nextel in the first half of 2010, according to industry sources." If it does roll out the 1H2010, will we get our updates to 2.1 first? I know it's all rumor now, but it's still interesting.

why update the hero with the hero 2 coming out?

Its not really the Hero 2, but the Hero was already sold a ton for Sprint in only 3 months. Those people are not eligible for an upgrade until late this year. Sprint isnt dumb enough to piss off all those people and leave them on 1.5 while everyone else gets 2.1 on a new phone or on existing phones on other carriers. Despite its processor being over a year old, the Hero for Sprint is only 3 months old.

It isn't Sprints fault, its Google Fault. There is an entire 2+ page thread about whos fault it is that we don't have 2.1 right now.

That thread also implicates the french somehow.

As others have pointed out, HTC doesnt make their Android phones look like their WM phones. This looks just like the HD2 and its probably just another fake. You also have to look at the leaked 2010 roadmap for HTC. There is no phone that looks like this and none with that name. Wont believe anything until HTC announces the new devices on Feb 16th.
