So far looks ok, not Laggy. No New features as I can see..
I flashed to JPK last night from JM8 and so far it's looking great.
The thread on XDA is far more positive than negative, unlike previous 2.2 leaks.
Apart from the GPS, which I haven't tested outside yet, if this was made "final" I would be happy.
No lag here, and no lag-fix applied. Runs very very nicely.
I can also confirm that there is no need for USB development to be enabled in order to mount the phone on a Mac! ;-)
I guess the joy was too soon..
After installing a few apps (Launcher Pro, Player Pro and WidgetLocket) My SGS started to get sudden freezes.
It freeze up with a black screen and only hard reset get it back up.. ;-(
after you flashed did you put the phone in 3 button recovery and do: wipe data/factory reset? ive heard without doing this there can be crashing problems
Yes I did, Wipe cache as well.. like a brand new one
this was a bug in the previous version or what?
Mac users were exempt from Galaxy s, as they are from most things in life lol
Upgraded my phone to the new JPK 2.2 firmware yesterday. Was good timing, since that release came out the day I was going to flash to the slightly older JPH, which had a few bad bugs. The JPK release feels extremely close to a release version everyone, its running very smooth, and I haven't had any problems yet. Enjoying Chrome to Phone (well, actually Fox To Phone), and Flash immensely, protected apps show in the Market (think Angry Birds), the new Gmail application is interesting too, the Music Player is finally perfect (no more crashes when trying to arrange by Artist), and the icing on the cake is the BT keyboard and mouse support (rather fortuitously my BT mouse also arrived in the post yesterday). I haven't yet tried the GPS, but people are reporting much improved performance (I've never had problems on any firmware, go figure). Samsung have kept their flawed RFS file system in place here, but despite 14 hours uptime now the lags haven't yet started, so whatever they've done for lagfixing is at least somewhat effective. Unfortunately Voodoo lagfix isn't available for 2.2 yet, but if I do have problems the One Click Lagfix is available.
Flashed JPK last night and gps stopped working....any help is appreciated....
thanks for the review buddy...can you pls post some pics or a video of the new features of froyo
