It's usually typical to have new users come on and say what they miss about their old phone. I'm not going to because I think it goes without saying that there is ALWAYS something you miss. Fact is, I don't miss all that much. I had a high end Windows Phone which I really liked but as time went along, I kept running into things I wanted (apps or settings) that I simply couldn't have. I have always wanted to get a Note but for some reason, never did. I finally pulled the trigger on that over the weekend and am in the process of learning this beast. I am absolutely NOT regretting my decision and so far have found nothing to dislike although truth be told, there is always something about a phone you won't like. I love the size and all the things you can do with this phone. You truly feel like you have a computer in your hand and I haven't even begin to discover everything yet. Oh right, I guess if there was one thing I didn't like (no major deal tho) it was that plugging my phone into a compuer with a standard USB cable gets me nothing but a charge. Such is life I guess. Wish it were not so but certainly nothing to make me regret my decision. I'll be hanging around these boards for a good while to see what else I can learn. So far? I love this phone and even my hubby got one so guess I'll be utilizing the train the trainor method. ;)

I use air droid to connect my phone to my computer. Works great and is very easy to connect. I can then transfer files

Yes but only using the USB 4 cable that came with it. I was trying to use a regular USB cable which although it would charge my phone, didn't even register a blip when I plugged it into my computer

I had a generic cable that did the same exact thing, I used a cable from my old HTC phone and it worked perfectly.
    Enjoy the Note

Not my first Android phone by a long shot. I think I used one shortly after the first one came out. I've just been using a Windows Phone for a while now. This is my first Note and I just could NOT be happier. I think I had grown tired of constantly fighting with Android but the phones have gotten a lot better and I have always had my eye on the Note from the very beginning. Absolutely glad I finally got one although the thing should really learn some manners. Darn thing started talking to me when I was having a conversation with someone. I have no idea what I said that could have "woke it up". Certainly not "hello Galaxy". Go figure. :D

Greetings and Welcome to the Forum!

First off I admit I'm addicted to Smartphones...ha...ha...ha... especially Android devices.

It really got better with my Note 3 and Nexus 5. As most of us know there isn't a perfect smartphone but it's sure getting exciting with KitKat on a Nexus 5.

It's fortunate I have a few active lines, yet the flip side is I'm really torn between these two. I love the size of the Note 3, but crave the pure Android experience of my tiny Nexus 5 :D

After buying way too many... the first hand experience has indeed been priceless, it's ramped up my Android skills remarkably while having a fun time doing so.

If I was forced to choose just one phone right now... it'd be the Note 3 for my preferences and usage pattern. It's a really terrific model that I've had since they were released.

By the way, your Avatar is awesome :)

You and me both. All my friends make fun of me because I'm always changing but what can I say? I'm a smart phone junkie :D As for my avatar, I always thought poor Pluto never got enough respect :p

Hello and welcome to the Note 3 forums.

Your experience with S-Voice (she wakes up far too easily) is not unusual. It does that. :)

Maybe I need to get her and Siri together for some training. I am NOT an iPhone fan but Siri is definitely way farther ahead in her development than any other competitor. She has *spunk* too :D

I am nothing if not studious. I'm watching videos and reading whatever I can about this phone. I always found it odd that the manuals for these smart phones often times don't even mention all the things it actually can do. If it weren't for boards like this one, half of what you can do would go undiscovered. I find no excuse for not at least putting it in the PDF file. Right now, my main focue is trying to find as many uses as I can for the S Pen as that is one of the main reasons to choose this phone over any other Android Phablet. I've always been of the opinion that if I'm going to spend this much on a device, then I'm darn sure going to learn everything it can do and try to utilize all of it. Get my money's worth in other words. :)

From a home screen double tap the home key. That should wake her up.
