Help Newbie to HTC One X - phone did OTA update and now stuck on Bootloader

Purchased a good condition HTC One X off Ebay recently and it arrived fine. Powered up no issues - had a Vodafone ROM splash screen with included apps- told me there was an update and downloaded update for JellyBean (around 300mb). Phone rebooted and now it will not exit out of bootloader mode...I have the following info:

HW Secure Boot - Enabled

I am relatively familiar with flashing recoveries etc and did this quite a bit with my Nexus 5 but this is my first HTC and tbh I am a little "overawed" by the sheer amount of info out there.

Have you tried "fastboot oem unlock"?
Sorry if it didn't help as I'm not familiar with bootloaders
