No phone associated

Hi there

I have been trying to download apps for my X10 mini pro. It informed me that I needed to set up a gmail account, which I did. Every time I try to log in to the account it tells me that there is no phone associated with the mail account or words to that effect. It also keeps telling me that I have no WI-FI connection which I clearly do as everything is working just fine. It's so frustrating, on the point of giving up.

When you created your Gmail account, did you create it on the phone? Or on a PC desktop using a web browser? Once the account was created, did you set up your phone to log into that Gmail account through it's email client?
