15th is looking very very good to me now, folks.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Verizon listed in store merchandising placement for December 15 | Droid Dog
sooo...I apologize for the newbie question here, even though I've been following this thread and phone a good month prior to the original expected launch date
Everyone keeps talking about the Nexus' software buttons and the lack of hardware buttons on the phone. My confusion comes from the fact that there are three buttons under the screen. Having the original Droid, I don't understand what is different here from what I am currently using...(how is this a big improvement to previous designs).

When viewing movies, the buttons will disappear, giving you the entire 4.65 (or possibly larger, EarlyMon calculated it at around 4.7" total) inch screen to use.sooo...I apologize for the newbie question here, even though I've been following this thread and phone a good month prior to the original expected launch date

Nothing like eggs, bacon, and pancreas-kidney transplant in the morning...SPK may refer to:
- SPK (band), an Australian industrial music group
- Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (Norwegian: Statens Pensjonskasse)
- Simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplant, one of the three main types of pancreas transplantation
- Socialist Patients' Collective (German: Sozialistisches Patientenkollektiv)
- Sour Patch Kids (soft, delicious, sour candies)
- Special Provision for Kira, a fictional organization from the Death Note manga series
- Strategic Plan Campine (Dutch: Strategisch Plan Kempen)
- Thygeson's superficial punctate keratopathy (TSPK), an eye disease
Man, you are a link bloodhound this morning. Nice find.
Seems that there bacon and cheese is negating that egg white. Might as well go all out!

Catching up on my Google Reader feed, heh.Man, you are a link bloodhound this morning. Nice find.
I just feel it promotes more false hope and I think we've all had enough of that over the past month or so. A blanket "New RUMOR...12-15" is more appropriate. Until Verizon officially announces something or we can all knowingly walk in and purchase the phone, there should be no dates stated as fact. That being said, I respect Steven and am greatful for all the help he has given me and others in the past. Not really a gripe as much as an observance.Because that's how its been done all along.
I've been trying to order a screen protector from Steinheil's website and it appears to be down. Anyone know where else I can get one?...I wanted the ultra crystal but it looks like they don't make it for the GNex...I don't want the new flex one because it's a wet application..that leaves the oleophobic (sounds like a disease) screen protector. I've looked everywhere with no luck. Maybe more will come out once this phone is released.
The droid buttons aren't part of the screen.
The Nexus buttons are a part of the screen, and they can hide when you play a movie, making the screen bigger.
we are going to cross the 100k mark before they release it....might even be in the google/verizon/samsung contract that AF must hit 100k posts prior to release. So JUST in case, I need everyone to post their tail off

I agree. Google wallet seems like a convienent scapegoat, but if so, then why wasn't it on the GSM versions as well. From what I'm hearing it wasn't 4G related at all unless the bugfix pushed out contained a change to the radio in some way.
Delay from 9th was definitely a bugfix.
For the record, I'm not saying Thursday is a pipe dream. I'm 60/40 on the side of release for Thursday, and I'm holding onto my day off.
Still, I think a lot of us are like that poor abused dog that flinches whenever someone wants to pet him. Is Verizon going to stroke our ears or pull and twist them?
Who the frak knows. Best to keep your expectations low. Less disappointment that way.
Haha, I am not uncalm yet. But like I said, so far, the first poster who had a rumor of a delay has been right 7 out of 7 times now. All the rumors in the world don't equal fact. It will release when Verizon decides to release it. I still hope for the 15th, but what started out as one rumor last week, (of which I remember distinctly posting "I don't buy it") became fact as the info started pouring in after stores open and people called to check on their appts. It is getting to that time now, so we shall see.
Ahh. Well that makes sense, even if it's not as funny as the thought of an egg, bacon, cheese, and Sour Patch Kids breakfast sandwich..Salt, pepper, ketchup.

Does anyone else have the feeling VZW is leaking release dates to watch us latch on to hope, and then they laugh and release a later date for entertainment value?
"Did y'all see those androidforum guys panic when we leaked the new date? That was hilarious!"
