Pantech Burst recieving messages late

I have the Pantech Burst from AT&T and I'm having a problem with the text messages. I recieve messages 20 minutes late and if I'm texting more than one person, I recieve them all at once which can be pretty annoying. I've been having this problem for weeks. I've tried turning off and on my phone but nothing is helping. Has this happened to anyone?

have you tried pulling the battery?
Does it happen with the same people or random people?
Also does it seem to happen when you're texting someone on a certain carrier? Like does it only seem to happen when you're texting someone on T Mobile or VZW?

Happened to me, something about the sim card, it was my first droid, took it back for a refurbed iPhone 4. That malfunctioned and I got this Motorola atrix HD and love it! I loved the burst but I wasn't going to wait around to see if the problem persisted. At&t customer care did nothing for me.
