Please help screwed up my phone!!!!

please can someone help me i totally screwed up my droid eris on accident.

here is what happened:

ok so i downloaded the file for the droid eris 2.1 ota file and i wanted to see if it would really not work on the leaked android 2.1 leak v3 so i followed the instructions on phandroid.com to manually put it on my phone. So i thought i had read somewhere that you had delete and PB00IMG.zip files on your phone so i did that and then turned off my phone and put it in bootloader mode. i tried to load it up but all it came up with was a picture of an exclamation mark and an android symbol.

so i figured i should just pull the battery and go back to the leak v3.

when i tried to turn the phone back on it would just come up with the picture of the android and the exclamation mark in the triangle again.

i was wondering if there was any way if i could fix this and how. could i just use the android-sdk adb and put the leak v3 back onto it and then reboot it? if so how?

Try pressing Power and Home key at the same time when you see the exclamation point thing


I read that brings up recovery mode...

yeah it brings up the recovery mode fine except i can't go from there back to loading any of the leaks or anything onto my phone because i don't have any of the files except for the ota on it and the ota totally screwed it up

Do you have a microSD reader? You could get one of those and load the v3 leak on it and then reflash....

omg.... it suddenly just started working on the third try! i guess third time is the charm.

how do i tell if the update worked?

Well, if you had v3 leak it prolly just reflashed to your original OS...what did it say when it worked finally?


If you wound up successfully installing OTA that would be interesting...

well it looks like it was when i was on the leak v3, it has all my widgets in place and everything... idk what happened suddenly,

here is the system info: firmware version:2.1
baseband version: 2.41.04.02.02
build number: 2.26.605.2 CL 134869 release-keys

well the main distinguishing factor between OTA and v3 is the HBOOT...the OTA is HBOOT 1.47 and the leaks are 1.49...you have to shut down your phone and then press power and volume DOWN to see your HBOOT...i would recommend getting that update off your SD card before you do that...

It just soft reset itself by the sound of it.

Next time that happens just pull the battery.

with version 3 at the exclaimation point you have to hit volume up + power (home + power is only for version 1.5) to get the recovery console then use volume down key to scroll down the menu with options to just reboot the phone and stop the process or install the update off the sd card. the install option with a leak ends with a message that it was aborted and you go back to the recovery console menu. sounds like you by chance got it to reboot.
