probably not much for the average user. It updates your phone with any new roaming agreements that Sprint has made. Essentially tells your phone what towers it can roam on, so if there was a new tower that just went up in your area that's run by a company Sprint has a roaming agreement with, it'll help you....otherwise, probably won't make a lick of difference

Just manually updated from 60660 to 60662.

Should one also update their profile as well?

I just updated from 60 to 62, and my signal went from 4 bars to 2.

I tried to update manually from 60658, but got a message on the phone saying "PRL could not be updated. Please try again later."

I've never had reception problems here at work. However, a guy I work with has a moment and has never gotten a good signal. I told him to grab the prl update and now his reception is fine. I have no clue what he was on before.
