Root Problems with WiFi tethering on CM7

I have been having problems with All WiFi tethering apps ever since I installed CM7 on my prevail and I just wanted to know know if anyone else has been having these problem (I just want too see if I'm the only one experiencing these problems) or if anyone has a fix for them.

The problems are these:
WiFi stops tethering when phone screen locks
WiFi suddenly turns really slow for no reason (even when it has full bars has never happened before)
And it causes system UI problems such as turning all the phone the to a shade of green, blue, yellow, red...etc (after of 10-15 minute's of use)

(I have tried about 10 WiFi tethering apps and 7 out of them tethered but caused all these problems some caused even more problems but these are the most common)

I am still trying to find out what causes these problems. And I think that what causes the problem of WiFi to stop tethering is a task, or background killer but i have nothing like that installed. I have also tried Installing one and adding them to the ignore list but no luck.

(And yes I have tried re flashing the Rom)

Edit:Solved with the new CM7 B4 ROM that recently came out and should fix these or any similar problems that anyone has been experiencing

For this one you need to go to menu/settings/wireless then wifi setttings then menu and advanced/ wifi sleep policy never

:)Thanks now just to solve the rest of the problems

Edit: It didn't seem to work after a while now it's just like each 15 minutes that it stops tethering once screen is off :(

I use widgetsoid to make a widget that prevents the screen from turning off at all. I have it plugged in whenever I tether, so battery drain isn't an issue tho

Also, I have had the screen color issue as well (but only green, the color of my theme, lol) a reboot seems to clear it up for me

The option to disable wake lock on wifi and wireless tether doesn't work for me. Instead I just got to the phone's settings>applications>development and enable the always awake option. Which works great for me since I usually charge my phone while I tether. And although wireless tether doesn't work as a hotspot like wi-fi tether it doesn't have any problems. I didn't have any issues with the screen though on either for me it was random reboots

Hey if I should be asking this somewhere else I appologize but, I'm just curious, why doesn't tethering work while I'm on the phone? I understand they both use 3g but why can't they just get along and share?

What do you mean by "on the phone" if you mean by currently being in a call you just cant use 3g and call at the same time, since you don't use 3g to make calls and the phone doesn't have the right transmitters to operate both at the same time. 3g is just for internet access.

I read this in another website so I'm pretty sure this is why, but if you are just browsing the web or something it should work just fine since when your tethering because your just sharing the 3g internet access.

I believe while on a phone call the 3g radio is shut down, I heard conflicting reasons, heat, battery life, or possibly interferance.

If youa re getting Connection issue such as youa re able to connect to ur hotspot but not getting internet you may need to alter the dns.You can find it in terminal typing getprop it should be under pppdns

I have a non-rooted VZW Galaxy Nexus and never had the issue described here before, until now.

After I upgraded the OS to 4.0.4 whenever I tether via WiFi hotspot, it doesn't matter wether I have the development option or the never sleep mode, when the phone reaches whatever setting I have on the Display->Sleep settings, at that exact time (wether it's 1 minute or 10 minutes) even if the phone is still ON, the WiFi stops tethering.

The only workaround is to turn tethering off and back on every time this happens.

To add to the issue, I contacted Samsung Support via their Twitter account (which they tout as the greatest thing on earth) and they told me to contact Verizon.

I read in a couple of places about what options I have:
1) Flash the phone back to 4.0.1 from 4.0.4
2) Backup all my stuff and reset the phone to factory settings to see if the issue just... "goes away"
3) Is there some app to keep the phone "awake"?
4) Throw this piece of s@#$ in the garbage

Any other ideas?
