Do I have to buy a certain kind of micro SD card for the Eris? I bought an extra 2gb Sandisk micro SD card and I tried to use it to update my friends phone to 2.1 v3 and it didn't ever load the image when in hboot. I finally had to take my card out of my phone and use it. A pain, but it worked. I'm just wondering if I got the wrong card?

I don't think so. There is nothing entirely special about the one the Eris came with. It looks like a regular Sandisk card.

For some reason that i dont not know, you cannot upgrade to 2.1 without the original SD card. But after you install 2.1 i think you can use that card to store data from the phone.

I wonder if it requires certain directories on the card. I duplicated my cards and will try that.

Use the format option in your Eris to format the new MicroSD card before you use it to upgrade your Eris
