That looks just looks like the kind of things I see when I do a speed test to the US or UK, from China. Sprint not being so good is it?

Depends on the area, most days it's actually quite good

And considering the circumstances of the first picture, i think it's actually pretty fast :D:D

Riddle me this... How exactly does this work?

If you don't understand the conundrum, just keep looking for a moment... It will jump out at you

Top right corner ;)
i had a working (albeit slow) data connection while i had no service (which i confirmed by trying to make a phone call)
This is probably obvious to some, but the what you were experiencing was a situation where you had a data connection, but no cellular (1x) connection. I have actually experienced that myself a few times, especially during the current Sprint 4G LTE upgrade roll-out.

I have been told that the reason for the strange occurrence is that you happened to be connected to a tower that was actively being worked on.

Just for reference, the Signal Bar icon in your notification bar actually only shows your Cellular (1x) signal strength.

If you want to see your data connection strength, I personally highly recommend the Signal Check app...

It's tough to give up a house when you've spent so many years making it a home.:(

You are just being normal. You are giving up part of your life. The memories and feelings of loss will slowly fade away. :)

While this may sound strange....a few years ago, when our office moved from one building to another, and all of the cubicles were removed and the offices emptied, I too got a strange feeing of hollowness. Looking around the office space, in my mind, I saw a bunch of memories. Both good and bad. As others have said, what you are feeling is normal. Change is difficult.

My neighbors stole..um... Gave me the street sign from my old house tonight as a good bye present:) I( including a 65 yr old retired engineer a cop and a mother of 3!) ha! I love that street and the crazy awesome neighbors! I miss it..but people are moving on.. And things change .. It was the absolute best street to raise young kids and have friends and minions and neighbors who were like family
It's rare ... And I'm lucky I had that experience
I'm still really sad... But I think it's going to be ok!
Besides... Someone needs to get the party started around here... In this neighborhood!!! And I'm just girl to do it:D!!!

Hope you are feeling better huh. Hope you don't feel as bad as I did last night.

I'm still spending a lot of quality time with the toilet, but I feel 100% better compared with yesterday.

I got a call earlier from a manager at Starbucks. I screwed up the phone interview and he didn't call back.

What should I do? Ever since I took an interest in this position I really want it.

They want to make me a manager at McDonalds now...

I want a new job, like Starbucks. They pay for school, and its a higher status working job. Deep down the real reason I want a new job is the status.

You think of McDonalds employees, low class working people, living paycheck to paycheck.

A Starbucks employee, what do you think?

Starbucks is a better company to work for,, no doubt. They are known for taking better care of their employees than similar companies. That's one reason they are so expensive. I wouldn't worry about status, though. You are a student. As long as you are a student, nobody cares where you work. That said, a manager at McDonald's is higher status than drive-through guy, no? Still, if you can get on at Starbucks, go for it. Maybe call the manager and see if you can impress him this time.

It's too bad that it sounds like things have changed. When I was 15 and my first job was Micky-D's, they tested their employees quite well. Nothing like an engineer for Honeywell, but tuition reimbursement, 401k match, vacation etc. for salary employees especially.

I hope you can find what you need wherever you go. First level of importance is your happiness. Don't commit to something you know you don't want, and second is if you for something, you can always back out with grace and without burning bridges. Maybe you could use your management offer as leverage/incentive for the job you want hire you.

Good luck!

SF, there is no stigma working at McDonalds or any other fast food place for folks beginning their ascent up the career ladder. Punctuality, work ethic, accountability are skills needed for any job or profession. Forming and honing those skills in a low risk environment like fast food will give you practical experience when you do get your degree.
