Random Thought Thread

No I'm just going there to get evaluated.

I've been hearing voices (like the devil and stuff) for a real long time. But I've recently been getting into arguments with family members in my head and responding back and stuff.

It's just a real long line of crap I've gone through due to my abuse as a child

Tough... :o I can only imagine a little of what you are going through, since a close relative is hearing voices as well.
Hey, I've just watched this: http://www.ted.com/talks/eleanor_lo...m-facebook-share&utm_source=direct-on.ted.com

I actually saw that :)

Yeah it can be scary, but I think it's the paranoia that sucks the worse. I use to go through my house looking for hidden cameras and microphones, and always feeling someone is watching me.

Of course I don't scour my house for electronic devices anymore, but I do have eery feelings that someone is watching me. Sometimes I'm afraid to look into a mirror thinking I'll see a person or spirit behind me, it's just really hard to go through

And having breaks from reality. It's just a big nuisance

Talking about random thoughts, eh?

It must be hard having the feeling you cannot always trust your own senses and thoughts, doubting what's real (for others) too.
Good luck, pal. You will get rid of your inner voices one day, or find a way to deal with them. There is good medication to help you with it.

You're very brave for going to get evaluated. But i hope you get better as you're going to have a family soon.

I have one family member who is bipolar, and a second who is bipolar with a touch of schizophrenia. A third is clinically depressed with anxiety issues on top. I am only clinically depressed. The process toward stable (-ish) mental health is a tedious one, but worth the effort if it keeps your family cohesive.

You guys can imagine what my medical bills look like.

I am kinda proud of you guys, talking openly about this.

There are many, many more afraid of discussing this, even admitting or accepting their own health issues, in fear of people not understanding this has nothing to do with 'being crazy'. Prejudices. Culture maybe. It would be so much easier to discuss if you could point at a bandaid or plaster and say 'this is wrong with me. Just a few more weeks and I'm healed again', eh?
This open conversation helps people understand. Maybe

I wish mental pain was that easy to deal with. It's easier to put on a band aid and that is it.

Especially for my family. For men it's a common occurrence to have psychotic breaks when your child is born. Why? I haven't any idea, but it can't be good.

After a quick Google search, this is what I came up with:

I haven't seen that but it instantly reminded me of a series from the 60s -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Invaders

And... Google tells me that there's the full Playlist up on YouTube -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vRuWEQX9Rk&index=5&list=PLJ4mcFE1FY8db-9-66F1MjhcVyi558YHh

And also free on TV.com (not a pirate site ok), and that reminds me that I haven't tried the TV.com app in quite a while lol.

OK, time to cast some youtube to the big screen and see if it's as good as I remember.

PS to Mike - totally digging the 8-bit updates, keep 'em coming! :D

PS to ss - some say we're only given burdens that we can carry. I'm pulling for you.

It was actually this movie

And thank you, it means a lot :)

We all engage in destructive behavior, and I know that often the introvert directs that destructive behavior toward the self.

Does the extrovert normally direct inward or outward?

I've got an interview with Starbucks!!

Terribly nervous now, because at knowing all they offer, paying for college, better job... I can't screw this one up?

I never been into Starbucks. All I know is that they sell coffee products... But knowing that this is a beginner job, much like McDonalds, I just have to be calm, and friendly. Two things I am NOT...

What I'm hoping is that my previous experience at McDonalds will get me this job. Let's just hope that the questions that they ask are the ones that I can answer.

How do you deal with an angry customer...

When did you go above and beyond...
