Help Really loud audio in headphones

Hey guys,
I've found that the audio is insanely loud even on the lowest notch when headphones are in. Without them, it's great. But with them, I have to send myself a text whenever I listen to music in order to trigger a notification, which about halves the sound and makes it controllable. In fact, I'd like the media volume to be where it is after a notification plays all the time.

Is there workaround for this that doesn't involve doing something to trigger a notification whenever I want to listen to music?

I think there was another thread on this from earlier but I can't find it right now.

Try downloading the MixZing player from the market. It has an equalizer, and I think you can compensate for the granularity in the Media Volume adjustment when using headphones.
