Replacement phone on the way...help please.

Orange are kindly sending me a new phone because of the screen being raised up on the right hand side. Quality service by Orange.

Does anybody have a checklist of what I should do to back the phone up before I factory reset it?

I'm bound to miss something.

Buy my back up pro, back up to sd card and sync google contacts.. Not forget too keep the sd card.

Orange told me to keep the battery, back cover, sim and SD.

I'm going more mental by the minute.

I downloaded the lastest(Orange) Rom from HTC

UK 2.73.61.5

BUT

The phone came with build number 2.73.61.66.

Now I'm going to assume the on the phone IS the latest Rom or should I install the one off The HTC site?

2.73 is the important bit as that refers to the software version; the last two numbers are to do with the date and the network it's for or something. So there'd be little or no difference between the two. But since you're getting a new phone you may as well install the latest one from the Orange phone. If you had already set up the phone it wouldn't be worth it.

I'll just leave it with the one it came with, I'm going to be doing all again when 2.1 arrives.

Must give a good rep to Orange Business, tiny fault with the phone, no worries no hassles just replaced the phone within 24hrs.

ROM Version 2.73.61.66 is the latest one available from the HTC site. It was issued in February 2010. The 61.5 version is an early version issued in November 2009. If you instal the earlier one you will be unable to unlock your phone using an unlock code even one provided by Orange. The main reason for the 61.66 version appears to have been to remove that bug.

Aye I just left it with the 61.66 rom. Now it may be my imagination or because it's a new phone but for some reason everything seems to be lightening fast, and the screen is ultra touch.

I got a call back from Orange, I must say they really do care about their business customers. I asked if they'd keep replacing the phone if I had any more problems and they said they'd replace the phone dozens of times until I'm happy with it.

Agreed - had a prob, got a replacement from orange, it came with the 61.66 rom and it is defo slicker than the one i had before! Thanks Orange

I had a problem with my headphones when I had my iphone on O2 and they were just awful, the phone was less than a month old and they didn't budge. I ended up buying new headphones and they didn't even knock a few quid off. I'd been a 10 year business customer, yet another reason to leave them.
