Root [ROM]Sense_4_villec2_Evo V 4G-odex-v4 07/11/2012 Daily Driver-MMS Working

didn't bother with that, ended up working after a few reboots :)

love the ROM, thanks for your work.

Another small question, any way to have the GPS for the weather to be exact?

(I live in NJ, but on my weather instead of saying my city, it just says NJ)

and also the Date format is European

not complaining at all, just wondering if I can change that at all

you can adjust some of the clock/weather settings by touching the clock, then selecting the three dots in the upper right hand corner, the settings..

i usually leave my gps disabled..the issue i have is the current city does not update itself until i manually do so...try messing with the settings and see if that helps you out with any of the small issues you have

Running this rom for the last 3 hours, and i have to say awesome rom, i don't really use 4G or 3D, so i'm gonna keep playing with it for the next couple of days, maybe more.

Thanks johnny424

Flahsed it and love it. Runs smooth. No problems. I don't even miss 4g or 3d. Also flashed with S-ON w/o extracting boot.img using 4EXT.

Okay, that still doesn't answer my question. The folder, "Kernel", do I fastboot flash that after i install the rom then? And also, yes i did just say that this rom looks like its the only one worth trying.. Personally i hate virgin mobile, but as i said lol im trying to help my gf out :P.. So if someone could help me that would be great :(. Thanks in advance.. again.
I would suggest following the steps in this post; it has everything you need to do: http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-a...ing-evo-v-4g-roms-kernels-using-fastboot.html
I highly recommend 4EXT mentioned in the optional step.

I'm running ZR3DX ROM and love it. I'll have to force myself to try the other ROMs because this one works so well, does pretty much everything I want, and is faster/snappier.

I also like Virgin Mobile as they provide me a better level of service than Sprint at half the price.

Can we get the FM Radio in the next update? I've tried installing the one from the forums here, but all I get is Unfortunately, FM Radio has stopped.

I'll look into an fm radio..there may be a system lib that also needs installed..I know this isn't the same but have you tried out I heart radio app? It picks up all your local radio stations depending on which city your in..pretty nice give it a try if you already havent..

Yeah, I've used I-Heart radio and Pandora. Not really looking for streaming radio. I like to jog alot and don't care to use all my 3G data listening to talk radio. I know I can download MP3's and play them but don't care for the music.

I hope you can get it going johnny, you've figured out everything else so far! Thanks mate!

One more thing that you could do is open up the phone app an dial ##25327# and then the EPST menu should come up. Tap on you menu button and then tap reset and it should reactivate your phone meaning it will reconnect to VM.

Wish i would have known lol i returned the phone and used some crappy excuse then bought another XD.

I decided to reset the phone using ##25327# to fix the resource shortage I was getting when trying to send a text. This would happen very frequently and I had read that resetting the phone would fix this problem. Well the resource shortage was fixed, but now every time I reboot my phone, or power off my phone and power it back on I lose service. I have to go into the ##25327# menu and do a reset again to regain my service. So apparently I cannot power off, or reboot my phone unless I want to reset the phone every time.. Kinda annoying...

Also I'm just curious, I see a lot of people saying the ROM is very smooth. I agree mostly, but sometimes when I swipe to go to a different home screen I get a screen freak out and it jumps and lags. Not sure if it's on my end or the ROM, just thought I would throw this out there and see.

i really like this one but its too many signal problems :(

thats any evo v rom bro.. signal moves around like crazy..not just this one

on a side note guys...

put an fm radio apk in the OP

Download and install with your standard package installer..or push it with adb or use your favorite file explorer..you may have to change permissions to match all other apps ..let me know if it works or not please

damn..sorry bro..haven't come across the issue wit the battery yet..i believe this is the first time someone had issues with the battery at all..

this rom has really good battery life..better then another that i have tried..not to sure what's up with that..

Alright, so I tried to install your rom onto my gf's device, and by all means im not new to the whole flashing ordeal, but... What kernal do i flash over to the phone before installing your rom? the folder that is in your rom you have ziped? Mind giving some instructions on doing so? I am S-On.
Hopefully you can get this worked out because tbh this is the only rom for the vm 3d phone that seems worth trying... Thanks in advance.

okay, I don't know if I did it right but it worked for me here's what I have:

S-ON
downloaded the ROM:
In the kernal folder I "cut (ctrl + X) the "boot.img / boot" & placed it in the
C:\sdk-tools directory (ctrl + V)

Plugged my phone in.
Open CMD.
cd/ [enter]
cd sdk-tools [enter]
adb reboot bootloader [enter]

while in FASTBOOT MODE:
fastboot flash boot boot.img [enter]
fastboot boot recovery.img [enter]

while in RECOVERY MODE:
usb toggle
drag rom to sd card "ROMs" folder
disable toggle

WIPE:
cache
dalvik cache
data factory reset then

choose the folder to flash the ROM
[x] Reboot after successful flash

if the above steps don't work idk what to tell ya...
