i just rooted my phone and i was wondering if it will help with the lag or do i need to install custom roms. i like the way the stock theme is.

I am in the same boat. I also wanted to know if I could do the Gumbo kernel upgrade with just the stock ROM. If not, with fresh can i have my own background and lockscreen theme as well.

I am not sure about flashing the Gumbo kernal over stock. I am betting that it would be ok but I would get a definite answer first.

MaDaCo ROM looks like stock so you can always flash that if you want a new ROM as well as the stock look.

Rooting only gives you complete control over your phone. It will NOT increase performance by itself.

You will need a CUSTOM ROM for that.

You can do the Gumbo Kernel over Stock and there are reports of it helping.

Again, not to be a d***, but did you guys try searching or reading through other posts on here? Most of your questions are answered in the sticky guide/faq on rooting. You just have to read through things.
