S6 Edge wifi not connecting - Failed to obtain ip address

Me and my brother got the Samsung S6 Edge for Christmas and are both having this problem. When connecting to the wifi it just loads for a while and then says failed to obtain ip address. I've looked over the internet and can't find any solution. I tried a static ip address which allowed me to connect to the wifi, however it there wasn't any actual internet coverage so I couldn't do anything. I have no issues with any other devices and was wondering if there was some sort of solution to this issue.
