Samsung granted Gear VR patent for recognizing hand gestures

The next version of the Gear VR may have you flailing your hands in the air to control your VR experience. The US Patent office has just published the details of a Samsung patent which would track user hand gestures with Gear VR mounted sensors, allowing users to interact with their VR experience without having to physically touch the headset. There's no indication that Samsung is planning to implement the feature any time soon, but it's nice to know that they are thinking about a better mobile VR experience already.
