Hi guys,

I just got my first android phone, and I'm loving it. I use to have an i phone 4s.

My phone is original from Rogers, (Canadian network provider). I have the android 2.3.5 and i don't have the option to upgrade the phone. The phone is unlocked and I'm using another non rogers network flawlessly.

How can i update the software to android 4.0 ? Should i root it before ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum makavelim3 and etotheo and thanks for joining.

When ics is released you will be able to upgrade without rooting. The Rogers skyrocket does however use different firmware to the international so I'll move the thread over to the skyrocket forum. Other members there should be able to tell you where to keep an eye out once its released.
